What words will you trust in 2019? Almost daily, your ears are exposed to opinions on how you should behave and voices spewing a plethora of deluded advice.   On virtually every social media platform, there are discussions regarding politics, spirituality, finances, sexuality and many other issues of life. Most commentaries attempt to appeal to your senses and influence your lifestyle choices. Although you can swipe to find 12 signs for This or 7 steps to That, they rarely fit your exact situation or provide a positive resolution.

And yet you trust in lies that will only hurt you.
Jeremiah 7:8 (Common English Bible)

You can get lost in the chatter.  Misinformation fuels insecurities and amplifies anxieties.  In the midst of discord and confusion, you may experience intense personal emotions.  A distressed mental state can cause your discernment to become clouded and sound decisions to wane.  Despite your desire for tranquility and joy, you find yourself disgruntled on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Lord of heavenly forces, those who trust in you are truly happy!
Psalms 84:12 (Common English Bible)

You do have a trustworthy source for enlightenment.  Your Heavenly Father is the ultimate success coach and life strategist. He delights in helping you in every area – relationships, difficult times, business, dreams, health, purpose – you name it.  God loves you. He gently guides with personalized advice exclusive to you.  There are no hidden agendas, no deception, only knowledge that leads to your good success. You become stronger, carefree and full of energy! His enduring patience and wisdom will teach you about the power within you.   Even better, you can access His protection, resources and anything you need at any time and in any place. Tune in to His feed…no wi-fi needed.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
don’t rely on your own intelligence.
Know him in all your paths,
and he will keep your ways straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (Common English Bible)

This year is different.  Trust God.

Unshakable Power – Part 3

roots-of-powerFeeling overwhelmed and anxious are emotions many of us battle to subdue.  Sometimes, they can be fueled by something extremely new or different to our normal routine.  The good news is that you can grow and flow with opportunities while remaining unshakeable at your core.  Four years ago, I posted about the challenge of what to do with yourself and emotions while God is at work.  Please allow me to share again how you can enjoy peace and remain calm while He is in control of the situation…

How can you become unshakable in the midst of all this?

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD,
and whose hope the LORD is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,
and that spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green;
and shall not be careful in the year of drought,
neither shall cease from yielding fruit. – Jeremiah 17:7-8

Get ROOTED.

Go DEEP in your relationship with GOD – deeper than you have ever been.  Ask Him to show you new dimensions of His love and the essence of His power. Only with God will you become steady during turbulent times.  The winds of change continue to blow and the heat of the unexpected burns, but nothing shall harm you.  He loves, protects and empowers you to be a blessing in any situation.  This requires a complete trust and focus on God instead of your circumstance.

SPREAD your roots among the “living water” of God’s Word.  Find at least one or two scriptures in the bible that you believe to be true.  If you’d like an example, here are two scriptures that you can begin to plant and grow roots in your spirit.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them
that put their trust in him. – Proverbs 30:5

And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee;
for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee. – Jeremiah 1:19

Every day, speak the scriptures aloud and think on the words and their meaning until it abounds in you. You will know it is rooted when it comes into your mind or out of your mouth freely, without prompting. Once you have deeply rooted those scriptures in your spirit, search for others and repeat the process.  Firmly establish yourself in the truth of God – not mankind. Understand, it is the storms of life that reveal how deep and wide your roots have grown.

When we are spiritually rooted and grounded, we become impervious to the chaos in the world. Our emotions are steady.  We can love, forgive, prosper and go forward in the midst of any storm!

Get rooted in God’s Word and become UNSHAKABLE!

Power Check-up

Ready for a great start to 2017?

The direction and speed of your forward progress is closely related to the strength of your spirit. This core aspect of wellness proves critical for victorious living! If you are like me, you are ready to grow, excel and live with more energy and power than ever before!

Okay then…it is time for a quick check-up! Let’s take a look at two main organs.

The Heart
Your heart pumps life to the entire body. Whatever your heart is filled with, that is what will be running through your veins. This year, your heart can flow freely with love and power! Now is the time to eliminate these emotional plaques that clog your spiritual arteries:

•  Regret
•  Bitterness
•  Shame
•  Sorrow
•  Jealousy
•  Anger
•  Hatred
•  Unforgiveness  (The Big Blockage)

You can unclog by exercising fun and laughter. Adopt a consistent lifestyle of thanksgiving in the midst of any life situation. Ingest spiritual super food with a daily dose of the living Word of God. Practice this new regime and you are on the path to a healthy, strong heart!

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart,
all ye that hope in the Lord. – Psalm 31:24

The Mind
Your mind is the control center of your life. Where it wanders, you will go. Often times, a mind without direction will create a chaotic state. Top it off with frustration and it can provoke you into depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mental disorders. This is not what God desires for you.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7

For your mind renewal, here are a few tips that can also help when feeling overwhelmed:

  • Shift your focus away from the distractions of the world. Take a break from social media, television, news and drama. Trust that God will take care of all things in your life, for your good and in His perfect timing.
  • Enjoy a daily mental break to relax, reflect and be still. Take deep breaths. Ahhhh, quiet and calmness. Meditation and prayer are great methods to ease your mind.
  • Re-direct your mind to positive, enriching thoughts. Think on things that bring joy and peace. Go to your “happy place” and speak empowering words to yourself.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee:

because he trusteth in thee. – Isaiah 26:3

You cannot control the outside world. However, you can control what your mind consumes and what your heart retains.  Spiritual wellness is essential to your successful destiny.
Take great care in how you nourish it this year!

Steadfast Power

Steadfast Power
Many people in the world today know about God.  Some reverence Him, but may not desire to practice religion or go to church.  Some accept His Son, Jesus, as their Savior, but choose not to walk in love or forgiveness.  Some worship Him, but do not really believe they can live in the power and blessing bestowed upon them.  There are many ways people relate to God and varied emotions on how they feel about Him.  However, God is always the same.

God’s love is steadfast (unwavering, firm and purposeful) towards you.

He is all and everything you need…a Father, protector, creator, redeemer, path maker, healer, sustainer, financier, blessing provider, restorer, comforter, innovator, wisdom revealer and much more!  It is truly amazing to comprehend how much God loves and adores you.  He has made all provisions for you.  He always forgives and does not remember mistakes.  His grace and mercies are new each day.  He never changes, takes a day off, or withholds any good thing from you.  He wants you to be healed, joyful, abundant and victorious!  Always!

How can I be steadfast towards God?

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence
stedfast unto the end; – Hebrews 3:14

Focus on His word and believe with confidence.  Situations and circumstances in life are temporary. Your Heavenly Father wants you to be steadfast in Him regardless of the world around you.   It is never too late for new beginnings with God!  He has a plan for your life that is more elaborate than you can ever imagine.  You must be with Him so He can pour out blessings on you.  No matter what you have done, He is always open for a closer, more intimate relationship with you.  He would love to hear from you!  You are His precious child and representative on earth.  Be steadfast and experience the power of His unwavering love!

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know
that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. – 1 Corinthians 15:58

Power Over Your Enemy

Power Over The Enemy

What does your enemy look like?  An enemy, for this purpose, is defined as anything that harms you and opposes the righteousness of God.  Does your enemy disguise itself through an emotion, circumstance or habit?

Emotions are perfectly normal, but if they are not controlled they begin to rule over you and your decision making.  Unrestrained emotions of anger, bitterness, self-pity, greed and fear are very dangerous.  Unchecked, they become an enemy to your spiritual growth.

Circumstances of life can be overwhelming at times.  An unexpected tragedy, an illness, or an end of a serious relationship can attempt to separate you from the love of God.  If they isolate you, they steal your confidence and become an enemy to your faith.

Habits can be good for you.  However, those such as lying, gluttony, procrastination and addictions are detrimental.  Bad habits keep you in bondage and become an enemy to your anointing.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you. – Luke 10:19

Meditating on the word of God will combat the escalation of negative emotions.  Daily fellowship with Him can transform bad habits into good ones.  Using every circumstance of life to draw you closer to God provides wisdom for victory in that situation.  When you are with God, you have power over all the ways the enemy may show up in your life.  In addition, nothing will hurt you no matter how intimidating it may first appear.

Rejoice, you have the power to dominate over any enemy!
