Power To Regulate

Power to Regulate

Would you like to gain positive control over two vital aspects of life: health and relationships?  Your body performance and interpersonal connections weigh heavily on the proper supervision of a tiny, yet powerful orifice.  If you want these areas to improve, you must regulate what passes through your mouth.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue
keepeth his soul from troubles.
– Proverbs 21:23

Your mouth, specifically your tongue, will demand its own pleasure if let unbridled.  It is so powerful that it can consume to the detriment of your body.  Poor input management can lead to stress and disease.  For optimal physical health, input regulation is critical.  Your Heavenly Father provides wisdom on what to ingest and supernatural strength for the discipline regulation requires.

However, output governance of your mouth is vital to your spiritual wellness and thriving relationships.  What it transmits has the power to build up and edify or to tear down and destroy. Your mouth can also speak through tweets, posts, comments and other social media platforms.  The more you regulate what your mouth says, the more control you gain over your life.

For those who want to love life and see good days should keep their tongue from evil speaking and their lips from speaking lies.
– 1 Peter 3:10 Common English Bible

Whatever happened to the teaching…If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all?  Even the Word of God advises…

Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters.
Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener],
slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and],
slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving];
– James 1:19 Amplified Bible

Your joy, peace, well-being and power are directly connected to the content in your mouth.  If you are going to open it, do your best to regulate it.

Words we say to ourselves are just as powerful as the words we speak out of our mouths.  This year, let’s thrive on powerful words…the ones we verbalize and the ones we meditate on.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any two edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
– Hebrews 4:12

Let’s choose our Power Scripture for 2014 and tap into this ultimate power source!  I am selecting a scripture that encourages me when I think about it and empowers me when I speak it aloud…

O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him – Psalm 34:8

Let’s start today and enjoy supernatural power for victorious living!

Power of Your Words

word collageEverything you say can and will be used against you – or for you.  Regardless of race, gender, age or financial status, words have the ability to release a blessing or unleash a curse.  Do not underestimate the power to transform your life through the words spoken from your own mouth.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. – Proverbs 18:21

So what would your life look like if every word you spoke actually manifested?  Do your words produce hope and life?

“This is the start of something good”                              “Anything is possible”
“I am healed and healthy beyond measure”                    “I believe in you”

Or do your words produce hopelessness and death?

“I am sick and tired of…”                                           “I am losing my mind”
“This ____ is killing me”                                        “Nothing is working, I give up!”

Too often, I have let words associated with fear, anger, pain or doubt slip out of my mouth.  I must continually take inventory of my words and thoughts to create a positive atmosphere around me.  My goal is to be filled with words and thoughts that align with the promises of God.  Then, I will naturally speak words of love, victory and faith in every situation!

What words of life can you add to your vocabulary today?
