Not a day goes by that I don’t need God’s power in some area of my life.
If you find yourself in need of power, remember God can do anything.  All you have to do is trust Him.  He promises to always be with you to overcome every obstacle.

And they shall fight against thee;
but they shall not prevail against thee;
for I am with thee, saith the Lord,
to deliver thee. – Jeremiah 1:19

Sometimes, in the midst of life trials, you and I can forget our “all-access” status with God.   It is during these times that He wants all our cares, battles and frustrations to be given to Him.  He wants us to ask for His help.  God’s power is magnificent, intense and boundless!  He can do all things!

Allow me to share what God’s power can do

strengthen you in times of weakness, anxiety and fear

shield and vindicate you against wickedness, slander, deception and corruption

infuse joy, love, peace and purpose into your life

heal you from sickness, addictions, abuse, molestation and a broken heart

restore and renew you from divorce, betrayal, loss, rejection and financial hardship

deliver you from feelings of inadequacy, depression, low self- esteem and rejection

bless and make you fruitful in every endeavor

transform your life out of darkness, condemnation and despair

generously provide grace and mercy

open doors, promote you and give you favor to live successfully

anoint you to love others even in the most difficult situations

…and the list is endless.

You are His beloved!  Whatever you need, seek Him and He will show you His power.  God can.  He is ready to do for you!

Tap Into Your Superpower!

super power

Words we say to ourselves are just as powerful as the words we speak out of our mouths.  This year, let’s thrive on powerful words…the ones we verbalize and the ones we meditate on.

Did you know that we can think and say words that are specifically designed to release a blessing and stabilize any environment?   These awesome words can be found in one place…the Word of God.   These power-packed words cover a multitude of circumstances.   There is nothing you can experience or ponder that God has not already addressed in the Scriptures.  His words possess supernatural authority to transform any situation.  God’s words have all the power you and I will ever need!

For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any two edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
– Hebrews 4:12

Let’s choose our Power Scripture for 2014 and tap into this ultimate power source!  I am selecting a scripture that encourages me when I think about it and empowers me when I speak it aloud…

O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him – Psalm 34:8

Something exciting happens when our spirit hears the Word of God coming out of our own mouths.  What divine words will spark something inside of you to become your Power Scripture for 2014?

Friend, I am sensing big, bold and amazing new opportunities in our lives!  Blessings will flow through us to bless others as we trust God, stay close and take refuge in Him.  This will be a year of spiritual maturity and manifested power like we have never experienced before.  All we have to do is give God a try and trust Him with every area of our lives – from our thoughts to our words.

Let’s start today and enjoy supernatural power for victorious living!

Power to Finish Strong and Keep Going

Finish Strong

Regardless of how your 2013 has been, you can always finish the year strong!  I understand that this is the time of year for reflections and resolutions, but join me in following a new approach encouraged by Apostle Paul…

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:
but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark
for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
–Philippians 3:13-14

…forgetting those things which are behind

The “Paul” approach requires you to forget all the mistakes and disappointments of your past. Purge everything that is behind, even memories of the “good ol’ days.” They are no longer needed.  Forgetting is much easier when you replace the past with thoughts of hope and joyful expectations of the future.  You will discover many amazing promises when looking forward in the Word of God!

Here is one of my favorites…

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them,
With men this is impossible;
but with God all things are possible.
– Matthew 19:26

You must also remove the load of shame, condemnation, bitterness, selfishness, lack, regret and anything else that you’ve been carrying.  Dismiss old philosophies, traditions and mindsets contrary to God and His word.   Stop engaging in activities that may harm you.  Envision yourself brand new, healthy and beloved each day.  This is how God sees you when you receive the free gift of salvation.

No more dwelling on the hurt and pain others may have caused.  No more speaking words of anger or despair.  Dark sorrow has no room in the bright days of your future.  Your past is not allowed to carry over into your new future.  It is time to remember no more.  Forgive everyone, including yourself, and prepare for a fresh anointing!

The past is over and nothing…
absolutely nothing from the past
is necessary for your new life ahead

…reaching forth unto the things which are before

Believe that the best is yet to come!  Your true purpose, joy, power and good success is before you!  God’s promises, found in His Word, will comfort and strengthen you as you end this year.  It will also encourage you to press towards the prize of God’s love, truth and blessings through Christ Jesus.  If you are interested in reading more on this subject, I would like to share some of the writings that have transformed my way of thinking this year and encouraged me to finish strong:

  1. Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine  by Max Lucado
  2. Battlefield of the Mind  by Joyce Meyer
  3. Power Thoughts  by Joyce Meyer
  4. Live Long, Finish Strong  by Gloria Copeland
  5. Power Over All: A 52-Week Guide to Victorious Living  by Akilah Grant

Friend, I pray that 2014 is your year of victory!
May the power and love of God be present in every area of your life!
Believe and have no fear of the future.
Finish strong and reach forth toward Him!
In Jesus Name, Amen.

I love you and thank you so much for your support this year!

Stay Calm and Flow with Power

Stay Calm and Flow with Power

You and I are designed to be the conduit in which God’s power and His anointing flow through.  This amazing power flows freely when we stay  calm, cool and collected during any life situation.  Calm during a personal storm, cool under fire, and collected despite betrayal.  Make no mistake…this is much easier said than done.

Scripture gives us a description of calm like this…

And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Let all bitterness, and wrath,
and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking,
be put away from you, with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted,
forgiving one another,
even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
– Ephesians 4:30-32

“Be kind to one another.”

A good friend helped me to put this verse into perspective by instructing me to replace “one another” with my husband’s name.  Try it with someone close to you.  Then replace it with the name of a relative, your children, a neighbor, your boss, a co-worker, or your ex – any person that may disturb your flow.

Be kind to ______________________ (fill in the blank).

The anointing flows without interruption when we walk in love.  No strife.  No fear.  No selfishness.  The anointing has room to flow and bless others through our lives when we relinquish our personal agendas and carnal emotions.  The anointing is sacred.  It requires our focus to remain on God.  Once activated, He shows us what to do with it.  Thankfully, you and I do not have to be perfect to transmit such a powerful gift!  But there is something we must do…

Stay Calm.     Be Kind.      Flow.

Access to Power

Access to Power

Let’s get right to it.  The extra strength and guidance you need for victory in every aspect of daily life: relationships, work, family, dreams, finances, decisions, wellness, self-esteem – is readily accessible through the power of God and His anointing.

Yes, this anointing is not only responsible for miracles, but it is also necessary to do the following in and through your life:

 –  heal and restore any type of brokenness
–  strengthen and empower your spirit
–  overcome and destroy any demonic oppression
–  set you free from bondage: emotional, mental or physical
–  demonstrate God’s pure love to the world
–  help to discern the truth
–  guide you to accomplish your purpose in life

Many of us are not aware that we have access to God’s powerful anointing right now! And that God desires us to flow in this anointing every day as we live out His purpose in us.   Without it, the challenges of life tend to wear down our faith, distract our attention away from God, and hinder our spiritual progress. (The book of Acts in the bible gives further explanation of God’s anointing.)

Maybe you can relate to being a Christian who has experienced feeling exhausted, frustrated and powerless. You come to a point in which you are no longer thriving.  It feels as if you are suffocating in fear, worry, anger and condemnation.  You find yourself becoming resentful and bitter; no longer helping others and sharing the love of Christ.  Thankfully, God is the ultimate power source to overcome all we will ever encounter in life!  This power is essential to living a victorious life.  Even better, you and I have access to this power through God’s anointing today!

Any person who has received the gift of salvation also has access to this power.  You do not have to be a preacher or work in ministry to be anointed.  God can and will work through anyone willing to “work” for Him.  He loves you and does not care about your race, age, sex, occupation, status or background – only your heart.

Now it is God who makes both us
and you stand firm in Christ.
He anointed us,
set his seal of ownership on us,
and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit,
guaranteeing what is to come.
– 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (New International Version)

You can access the anointing of God through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  When you are ready, simply pray and ask God for this powerful gift of being anointed and filled with the Holy Spirit.  Once received, continue to seek God and His word to learn more about this extraordinary way of living!  He is ready to do a mighty work through you!

In the next blog post, we will talk about how to flow in His anointing.  If you want to learn more about God’s anointing through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, go to Week 4: You Are Anointed in the Power Over All book.

The First Step to Power

steps to power
Are you ready to receive the power God has for you?

God’s power is no secret.  It is available to anyone who believes in Him and accepts the free gift of salvation.  You can go to God right now – right where you are!  There is no need to “clean up” first.  He already knows everything about you.  He loves you and wants to save you!

All you have to do is ask.

And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord
shall be saved. – Acts 2:21

The first step to access God’s ultimate power requires believing in Him and receiving the free gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.  (John 3:3) Once you accept this free gift of salvation, you are born again within your spirit and you become a new creature with Christ.  You may look the same, feel the same and act the same at first, but God is on the inside of you working on your behalf.  God heals, restores and empowers you!

Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new. –
2 Corinthians 5:17

Once you are ready, you can take the first step by simply acknowledging Him and receiving salvation.  Remember, God knows your heart so just communicate with Him in your own words. If you need a little help, here is an example of a prayer of salvation that you can confess aloud:

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you just as I am.
Thank you God for loving me so much that you sent your only Son to save me.
I repent of my sins.  I believe and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
I believe that Jesus was crucified on the cross
and that His blood cleanses me of all my sins.
I believe in my heart that you, God, raised Jesus from the dead
and He now sits at your right hand in Heaven.
You have sent the Holy Spirit to guide me.
It is by your mercy, love and grace that I receive this free gift by faith.
I am now your child, Almighty God, and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. Amen

Praise God! The day you receive salvation is the most impactful day of your life! Friend, I encourage you to continue to seek God, study His Word for yourself, and fellowship with other believers.  Learn all you can about why He sent His only son to redeem you.  The more you understand about God’s ways, the more you will appreciate His power now residing in you!

Stay tuned…we will discuss how to access God’s Power in the next blog post!

Powerful Rest

Powerful Rest

Do you sometimes get frustrated and weary?  Have the tribulations of life become so overwhelming that you find yourself empty and resentful? You may be convinced that no one cares about you and nothing will change.  It is in these dark moments that the enemy tries to deceive you into thinking you are powerless.

So what can you do?

You go to God and rest.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

Resting is an act of faith.  You must believe and trust in the One who created life – the only One who can fully restore you.  Relinquish control over your situation and stop your own actions.  Despite a whirlwind of emotions, you must stay calm.  You must be still. Resting in the midst of personal turmoil takes effort – both physically and spiritually.  Remember, the Holy Spirit is always ready to help you.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest,
lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. – Hebrews 4:11

Resting is freedom from anger, fear, pain and stress.  The enemy wants you in bondage to the issues of life by keeping you distracted, discouraged and disconnected from your Heavenly Father.  God wants you to rest so you will experience His power working on your behalf.  Meditation of His word is a great prelude to powerful rest. He takes care of everything!

Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord;
neither be dismayed, O Israel:
for, lo, I will save thee from afar,
and thy seed from the land of their captivity;
and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet,
and none shall make him afraid.
Jeremiah 30:10

No matter what you are going through, God loves you!  Go to Him and experience a rest like never before! If you want to learn more, go to Week 47: Sweet Sleep in the Power Over All book.

Pure Power

PURE PowerWhat is PURE in your life?

Before you answer, let’s look at a definition…

PURE (adjective): Separate from all heterogeneous or extraneous matter; clear; free from mixture; free from moral defilement; without spot; incorrupt; genuine; real; true; unadulterated; free from guilt; innocent; unconnected with anything else*

What do you know to be real, true and clear?  I have contemplated what is pure in my own life.

Not my thoughts or my decisions. Unfortunately, I sometimes allow them to be mixed with external influences from the world…news, data, opinions, etc.

Not my past. It has spots and blemishes.

Not my body or soul. Both have been polluted with all sorts of stuff…preservatives, bitterness, foreign contaminants, pride, artificial sweeteners – you name it.

Not my relationships. I am not certain all of them are genuine.

Not my mouth. Left unchecked, it has defiled others and uttered words connected to doubt, fear and foolishness.

Okay..then what is pure in my life?

Only one thing – God.

Thankfully, He cleanses me, dwells within my spirit and empowers me.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them
that put their trust in him. – Proverbs 30:5

His love is pure.  His Word is truth.  His power is real!

God is the one pure thing in my life and in yours!  If you want to learn more, go to Week 27: God’s Word in the Power Over All book.

Another Real Life Example of God’s Undeniable Power

Another Real Life Example of God’s Power – Video

Antoinette’s story of how God helped her to say the right words while confronting the gunman is truly inspirational.  This is an excellent example of God’s love and power dominating over any situation.  When you listen to her words, you can feel the peace that was present in a critical situation.   She prayed for the gunman and relied on the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide her in the face of fear.

Whatever you are going through, you can ask God for help.  You are never alone and never outnumbered.  God’s power is undeniable!

What shall we then say to these things?
If God be for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31

The Stranger

I am sharing this blog about a stranger coming into your home…and even your spirit by Nightlight Blog.

vonhonnauldt's avatarnightlightblogdotcom

[This was e-mailed to me by a long-time friend, who received it from someone else via email.  My friend mentions seeing something like this about 30 years ago.  Some of the things as it must have been originally written have changed.  I’ve edited it a little because of that.  Nevertheless, it’s still true.]

A few years after I was born, my dad met a stranger who was new to our small town.  From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer, and soon invited him to live with our family.  The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family.  In my young mind, he had a special niche.

My parents were complementary instructors:  Mom taught me good from evil and Dad taught me to obey.  But the stranger…he was our story teller.  He would keep…
