Can we count on you to introduce peace to a situation or personal interaction? Are others at ease after having an encounter with you? This decade has initiated complex challenges, especially to our spiritual and emotional state, and those of our family and friends. Most of us would appreciate a moment of peace during these chaotic and uncertain times. As we look to the future, an ongoing test will be our ability to promote and maintain a peaceful life.

If possible, to the best of your ability,
live at peace with all people.

Making peace with others requires a discipline of emotions, a regulatio n of the tongue, and a heart to forgive. Making peace with unexpected circumstances requires a shift in focus, innovations for change, and strong faith. You can be free from anything that attempts to steal your peace: fear, anxiety, anger, frustration or past regrets. Peace provides a freedom from negativity, oppression, stress and conflict. It is so vital for your victorious living and personal well-being.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
– Matthew 5:9 (New International Version)

Blessed [spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor]
are the makers and maintainers of peace,
for they will [express His character and]
be called the sons of God.

You may ask…”Do I have the power to make and maintain peace?” Yes! You can have peace not only with others, but peace within yourself. There is One who can show you how. Now is a perfect time to make acquaintance with Jesus, the Prince of Peace. There is no need for social distancing with Him. He wants to be close with you to provide shelter against life disturbances. He desires to restore and promote you to a new level of joy. The more time you spend with Him, the more love and power will increase in your life. Friend, access the power of peace today!

Are you in need of a little power to finish the year? Feeling over it…overwhelmed, overladen and overdue? The end of a decade is drawing near. Although you may be weary, you are never alone. There is unconditional love and supernatural strength readily available. You are still here and perfectly positioned for a new season of blessings. Now is the time to be undaunted!

UNDAUNTED | not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, fear or disappointment

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God
will be with you wherever you go.

Current situations can block out the light of the finish line. During these times, you may have to rely solely on faith to keep pressing forward. No looking back. Some days, you can only take one step. Some days you may need to rest. Continue to focus on the promises of God to build your strength and go forward. Ask your Heavenly Father for insight on how to navigate the journey. He will always answer and remain with you.

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—

Harriet’s Power

What is the source of your power and strength? Have you identified what pushes you to greatness? Many people gain encouragement from the accomplishments of others, mentors or heroes they have encountered. Recently, I saw the movie Harriet and was reminded of the supernatural power source to which we all have access.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
– Philippians 4:13

Harriet Tubman was a woman of immense bravery, determination and faith in action. When asked how she was able to free so many slaves, her response always included God being with her. Her adeptness was a result of the close relationship she maintained with Him. She trusted that He would guide, protect, strengthen, comfort and provide for her during her amazing feats. Unequivocally, she gave all credit to God as her sole power source.

I have told you these things, so that in Me
you may have [perfect] peace and confidence.
In the world you have tribulation and trials
and distress and frustration;
but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]!
For I have overcome the world.
[I have deprived it of power to harm you
and have conquered it for you.]
– John 16:33 (Amplified Version)

Harriet inspires me to see the future good despite the current circumstances. Her life teaches me how to be undaunted in the midst of haters, deceivers, fear and the seemingly impossible. She exemplifies the supernatural strength it takes to go forward after a setback. Her extraordinary accomplishments are a result of a very intimate and personal relationship with God. The best part is…you and I can rely on this power source, too!

Unshakable Power – Part 3

roots-of-power Feeling overwhelmed and anxious are emotions many of us battle to subdue. Sometimes, they can be fueled by something extremely new or different to our normal routine. The good news is that you can grow and flow with opportunities while remaining unshakeable at your core. Four years ago, I posted about the challenge of what to do with yourself and emotions while God is at work. Please allow me to share again how you can enjoy peace and remain calm while He is in control of the situation…

How can you become unshakable in the midst of all this?

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD,
and whose hope the LORD is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,
and that spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green;
and shall not be careful in the year of drought,
neither shall cease from yielding fruit. – Jeremiah 17:7-8

Get ROOTED.

Go DEEP in your relationship with GOD – deeper than you have ever been. Ask Him to show you new dimensions of His love and the essence of His power. Only with God will you become steady during turbulent times. The winds of change continue to blow and the heat of the unexpected burns, but nothing shall harm you. He loves, protects and empowers you to be a blessing in any situation. This requires a complete trust and focus on God instead of your circumstance.

SPREAD your roots among the “living water” of God’s Word. Find at least one or two scriptures in the bible that you believe to be true. If you’d like an example, here are two scriptures that you can begin to plant and grow roots in your spirit.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them
that put their trust in him. – Proverbs 30:5

And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee;
for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee. – Jeremiah 1:19

Every day, speak the scriptures aloud and think on the words and their meaning until it abounds in you. You will know it is rooted when it comes into your mind or out of your mouth freely, without prompting. Once you have deeply rooted those scriptures in your spirit, search for others and repeat the process. Firmly establish yourself in the truth of God – not mankind. Understand, it is the storms of life that reveal how deep and wide your roots have grown.

When we are spiritually rooted and grounded, we become impervious to the chaos in the world. Our emotions are steady. We can love, forgive, prosper and go forward in the midst of any storm!

Get rooted in God’s Word and become UNSHAKABLE!

Unashamed Power

unashamed of the gospel Do you feel that you must hide the fact you are a Christian? Are your moral beliefs unpopular with the social crowd in which you engage? Maybe you fear judgement or feel ashamed since your righteous lifestyle is still evolving. Don’t let the opinions of the world disgrace your faith or dilute your passion for the Holy One. Be encouraged and keep growing with God! Remember, you are a Christian because of what you believe, not based solely on what you do.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. – Romans 10:11

I have witnessed God’s awesome power in my life and in others. He saved me from a pit of darkness. He healed and restored me even when I did not deserve it. God gave me a new life. I am forever grateful for His grace and mercy. Regardless of how I act, these are just a few reasons why I am not ashamed…

My Creator is more powerful than any person, system or wicked force in the universe
God loves unconditionally – He teaches me how to love and forgive
He sacrificed His son to conquer sin once and for all – Christ is the only King who died and rose again for the entire world
God is the source of truth – I trust and need Him daily
He provides unlimited access to His power, protection and provision
God teaches me how to be compassionate without compromising my faith
The gospel of the kingdom brings joy, peace, healing and grace
God empowers me to live fearless and help others

The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him
[who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him]
will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.
– Romans 10:11 (Amplified Bible)

No matter how the world portrays God and Believers, being a Christian is nothing to be ashamed of! Friend, stay grounded in His love. Be bold in His promises and stand firm in your faith!

Heart of Power

heart-book How do you feel when you imagine your life in the future? Does a flood of emotions emerge when you intentionally refresh your heart, soul and mind to new thoughts? Invigorating yourself when everything around you remains the same requires supernatural guidance. Thankfully, you can look ahead to a new year of victory in any area with faith and the light of God’s promises.

Your heart is very powerful. It can harbor pain and bitterness or it can generate love and encouragement. Your heart influences emotional decisions and leads strategic actions. Filling your heart with the Word of God is the best way to ensure a bright future. Even in a dark circumstance, you can access His powerful light to change any situation for your good. Seek God and find out how He has prepared you to shine!

In the light, there is power over the symptoms of darkness such as: depression, fear, shame and lack. There is an abundance of peace, joy, love and truth. God wants to fill your heart with light!

I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
will give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation
that makes God known to you.
I pray that the eyes of your heart will have enough light to see
what is the hope of God’s call,
what is the richness of God’s glorious inheritance among believers,
and what is the overwhelming greatness of God’s power
that is working among us believers.
This power is conferred by the energy of God’s powerful strength.

Friend, God loves you and desires for you to live your best life ever! A life better than you can ever imagine! Take the first step towards a powerful life with God. Make this a year that your heart is enlightened!

Power Over Terror

Small-Group praying Have you ever felt terrorized…mentally or physically? Terror is defined as extreme fear or the violence committed to cause extreme fear. At first glance, terror and those who distribute it appear powerful or unstoppable. However, it is only an evil tactic to distract and rattle your faith. In these times, a strong and wise spirit is critical to dominate over the terrors of this world.

Terror wants to literally “scare you to death” and make you relinquish your power to serve its cause. It is not a person, but an evil, dark presence that is revealed through, but not limited to, the following forms:

violent attacks against innocent persons, racism and other “isms”, brutality, abuse,
human trafficking, slavery, threats, kidnapping, wicked secret societies,
bullying, propaganda, genocide, pestilence and injustice

Although terror is atrocious, God’s grace is greater! You and I are not hopeless or defenseless. As Believers, we must unite in strong faith. We have the power of God inside our spirit to disarm and disrupt the schemes of terror globally and in our own communities!

You shall establish yourself in righteousness
(rightness, in conformity with God’s will and order):
you shall be far from even the thought of oppression or destruction,
for you shall not fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near you.
Behold, they may gather together and stir up strife, but it is not from Me.
Whoever stirs up strife against you shall fall and surrender to you.
(Isaiah 54:14-15 Amplified Bible Version)

Here’s how you can fight terror…

Focus on God
Speak His promises of victory – Be Fearless!
Unite with other Believers – we need each other in these times of spiritual warfare
Put on the whole armour of God – now is the time to be skillful
Helmet of Salvation, Shield of Faith, Breastplate of Righteousness, Belt of Truth, Sword of the Spirit (Word of God) , Feet prepared with the Gospel of Peace
Pray for your enemies – pray they are no longer used by the evil one – pray that their wicked plans will not be executed – pray to forgive them: forgiveness keeps you disconnected from fear
Pray for the safety of your families, communities, churches, leaders and your country
Trust God as the ultimate Vindicator

Praying, believing and speaking the Word of God over any form of terror is key to success! Victory is your inheritance! Today is the perfect day to align with the only One who is victorious!

Your Power Season

Do you ever feel like giving up and throwing in the towel? Has a whirlwind of emotions convinced you to abandon your dreams, a marriage, God or even your own life? Before you make any decisions, let’s take a moment to breathe and refresh.

Every person experiences an undesirable season in life – grief, depression, frustration, shame, loss, addiction or an unexpected tragedy. If left unattended, these seasons can steal your joy, harden your heart and leave you barren of faith. However, with the power of God, they can also provide opportunities for supernatural victory!

If you are ready for a season change, here are some tools that may help you…

Keep your heart towards God
Seasons of life test spiritual maturity. You can strengthen your faith by focusing on the promises of God written in His Word. This can be extremely difficult to do while experiencing the disappointments and distractions of life. But doing so will empower you to break free from hopelessness. His Word gives inspiration for the future. God loves you. Talk to Him about your pain and allow Him to replace it with a joy and peace that only He can provide. In the midst of a winter, God will prepare you for your spring.

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit,
out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God:
many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. – Psalm 40:1-3

Be patient and believe
Tribulation is temporary. Your present circumstance is not your final season. Continue building intimacy with God in prayer. Believe God has taken care of all your adversaries and infirmities. Take refuge and find comfort in Him. Take time to rest and quiet your spirit. The manifestation of your destiny is worth waiting for. Your words, actions and reactions may seem justified, but find out what God has for you. This knowledge is imperative for strength and endurance in any season.

Make decisions based on purpose instead of on the pressures of life

Look ahead and dream BIG
Even in darkness, envision yourself in a new season! Believe the best for your life! Creating a dream board is a great way to visualize your future success. Avoid rehearsing past regrets and reliving painful events. Forgive others and forgive yourself to maintain clear vision. Bitterness impairs your ability to see ahead. The Word of God will encourage you and build up your dreams. It is a constant reminder that your future is greater than anything you have already experienced!

Brothers and sisters, I myself don’t think I’ve reached it,
but I do this one thing:
I forget about the things behind me
and reach out for the things ahead of me.
– Philippians 3:13 (Common English Bible)

Do not give up!
Friend, God has a purpose for your life. He needs you to continue on the journey with Him. Keep going towards God. He will reveal your destiny and bring it to pass. With Him, you will overcome the impossible. No person, present situation or past mistake can stop you from your power season!

And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. – Galatians 6:9

Power to Recover

Power to Recover Have you ever spent time with a homeless person? Surprisingly, most that I have met personally or while serving in a shelter, have been well-educated, articulate, or once successful people who had difficulty overcoming a life storm. Their conversations recall the exact moment when their life shattered – a devastating loss, the severe health issue, an addiction, the bad business decision, a betrayal, the death of a loved one, a debilitating accident or something unexpected that made recovery seemingly impossible. During this low point in life, they felt alone and abandoned. Some were mad at God. Others were drawing close to Him and experiencing their recovery.

This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. – Psalm 119:50

Certain life situations are unbearable at their onset. They foster hopelessness and pressure you to give up. If unchallenged, they can cause you to slip into a pit of despair…a pit so deep that a supernatural rescue mission is required. During these dark times, evil tries to destroy your faith and isolate you from your Heavenly Father. Thankfully, God is always present to rescue and renew. Look to Him and the power of His Word to bring you out.

Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again,
and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. – Psalm 71:20

Are you ready to recover? Do not be afraid or ashamed to ask God for help. He loves you no matter what the circumstance. He will never leave you or forsake you. He will bear all the weight of your tribulation if you allow Him.

Friend, experience the comfort, healing, power and protection found solely in the Word of God. Believe that His Son, Jesus, came to save and redeem you. Not only will He bring you out of any pit, He will restore your life more abundantly than ever before! His Word quickens us with energy, new life and victory!

With God, your can completely recover from any situation!
